At TPSC we believe that movement is medicine and it is our goal to educate, motivate and inspire you to move more and to move better. Whether you have an acute or chronic injury, we believe that soft tissue injuries go hand-in-hand with joint injuries. This is why we have a three fold approach to our chiropractic treatment plans.
1. Chiropractic Adjustments: Our goal is to maximize joint movement as well as promote proper alignment.
2. Stretching and Soft Tissue Therapy: Our goal is to promote healthy muscles, tendons and ligaments while lengthening tight tissues.
3. Corrective Exercises: Our goal is to strengthen weak areas to help stabilize injured joints and to promote better posture.
At TPSC we incorporate sports medicine and physical therapy into our patient's treatment plan. We believe that our patients will achieve better outcomes when chiropractic is combined with physical therapy.
At TPSC we believe that treating injured soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) is just as important as addressing injured joints. This is why we offer medical massage in our office. Spinal decompression involves stretching the spine while using a traction table. The goal is to relieve back pain and/or leg pain. Our chiropractor also works to promote an optimal healing environment for bulging, degenerated, or herniated discs.
Spinal decompression is a type of therapy applied to the spine that brings patients many benefits. First, we attempt to create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or re-positioning of the herniated or bulging disc material. Secondly, we create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients as well as other substances into the disc.
We will be sure to stretch and relax your spine intermittently in a controlled way. The entire theory behind this process is to create a negative intradiscal pressure which will pull the herniated or bulging disc material back into the correct space as well as to promote a passage of healing nutrients into the disc so it is able to heal.
